How do you share a topology in Spaceclaim?
How do you share a topology in Spaceclaim?
Generate a mesh
- Switch to ANSYS Workbench.
- Expand the design in the structure tree. All of the solids are in the same component so they will be recognized as a multi-body part and use shared topology.
- Right click Mesh and select Generate Mesh.
- The solids should now be meshed. Take some time to view the mesh.
Is Spaceclaim better than DesignModeler?
– If everything works correctly within Spaceclaim, the welding/connection process in Spaceclaim is significantly faster than in Design Modeler.
How do you merge faces in design modeler?
To merge faces
- Click Merge Faces in the Adjust group of the Repair tab.
- Select two or more faces you want to merge.
- If you want to retain tangency between the new face and an existing face, click on the Maintain Tangency tool guide and select the face with which you want to retain tangency.
What is topology optimization in ANSYS?
The optimal shape of a part is often organic and counterintuitive; ANSYS topology optimization technology lets you specify where supports and loads are located on a volume of material and lets the software find the best shape.
What is shared topology in ANSYS?
Shared topology is the only way to achieve a conformal mesh where bodies meet, and is the only way to be certain that the intersection of bodies is meshed perfectly. Shared topology also applies to volume and surface bodies that are completely inside of other volume or surface bodies.
Is SpaceClaim better than Solidworks?
Solidworks is widely used by the CAD engineers whereas Spaceclaim is widely used by the CAE engineers. Let’s compare both the software on the following parameters. Price: Both provide quote based price but if you consider the price based on the feature and services, Spaceclaim is costlier than Solidworks.
What is Ansys SpaceClaim?
Ansys SpaceClaim is the perfect modeling solution for engineers who want access to 3D answers but don’t have the time or inclination to learn complex traditional CAD systems. It provides you with tools to accelerate geometry preparation and get to simulation sooner while eliminating delays between design teams.
How do you merge bodies in DesignModeler?
Otherwise, in DesignModeler, Create->Boolean, then use “unite” operation to merge bodies. You can use “Form New Part” in DesignModeler if you want ANSYS MESHING to create a conformal mesh in-between all parts. This is useful if you want to apply different mesh option to each part, sizing as an example.
How do you combine geometry in Ansys?
Popular Answers (1)
- Generate the geometries (click the thunder icon).
- In the Tree Outline, Ctrl+LMB (left mouse button) on the bodies you want to combine.
- RMB on one of the selected bodies (a secondary window will appear) and then click on the Form New Part option.
