How does trench heating work?
How does trench heating work?
Trench heating works by drawing cold air down through the grilles and into the trenches. The air is then warmed over a copper and aluminum heat exchanger and rises to heat the room by convection, allowing the entire room to be warmed evenly from floor to ceiling.
Are trench heaters any good?
Trench heating is energy efficient, making it economical to run. The heat is produced underneath the floor and is then distributed evenly throughout the room, meaning there are no cold areas. Modern house designs tend to use a lot of open spaces, often with glass bi-fold walls or large patio windows.
What is a trench radiator?
Trench heating is a heating system that takes away the need to have standard radiators on the wall. Trenches are dug within the floor and a simple ‘convector unit’ is connected up to the heating system and finished with the one key design feature – the grille.
What is a perimeter heating system?
Perimeter heating is a method of distributing warm air through ducts installed in the surrounding area of an indoor space. These ducts could be in above-floor diffusers or embedded in the floor using raised access flooring.

Economical, eco-friendly and comfortable, underfloor heating has long been accused of being bad for the legs, especially for blood circulation. But thanks to new low-temperature techniques, this disadvantage has been completely eliminated.
Is underfloor heating more expensive to run than radiators?
Underfloor heating is more eco friendly than using radiators and uses less energy, meaning they cost much less in the long run! As long as you have installed it properly, you could save about 25% of the energy you would use with a radiator, and up to 40% when running from a heat pump.
