What is an in-check dial?
What is an in-check dial?
The In-Check DIAL is a hand held inspiratory flow measurement device with a dial top. The DIAL orifices have been designed to simulate the resistance of inhaler devices from the DPI and MDI categories.
How do you measure inspiratory flow?
The In-Check Nasal works when a patient inhales through the nose causing air to be drawn through the meter, a cursor moves along the scale to indicate the speed of inhalation. The inspiratory flow rate achieved can be noted by checking the position of the cursor against the calibrated scale.

How do you calculate PIFR?
PIFR was measured by using an In-Check DIAL device. Individual PIFR values for each inhaler device were obtained for three consecutive measurements and then averaged.
What is in-check dial G16?
In-Check DIAL G16 enables healthcare professionals to coach patients to use their inhalers correctly. The device measures peak inspiratory flow rate, and can simulate the resistance characteristics of the specific inhaler of a patient, providing the device is set on the correct setting.

What is a Haleraid?
The Haleraid is an aid to help patients grip the press the canister of metered dose inhalers. Useful for patients who suffer from arthritis or another disability affecting the hands. The Haleraid 200 is designed for and only for use with Allen & Hanburys 200-dose inhalers (i.e. Ventolin(R)).
How do you measure peak inspiratory flow rate?
This can be measured during spirometry, using a mechanical peak inspiratory flow meter (In-Check®, Clement Clarke Ltd.), or an electronic IMT device (POWERbreathe KH1®, POWERbreathe International Ltd). The measurement requires patients to exhale to residual volume and to inhale as quickly as possible.
What is the peak inspiratory flow rate?
Peak inspiratory flow rate (PIFR) is the maximal flow rate obtained during an inspiratory maneuver. PIFR measurement can be impacted by the internal resistance of the device, which varies with device design.
How do you use accuhaler?
