A nursing case study paper contains several sections that fall into three categories:

  1. The status of the patient. Demographic data.
  2. The nursing assessment of the patient. Vital signs and test results.
  3. Current Care Plan and Recommendations. Details of the nursing care plan (including nursing goals and interventions)

What is a nurse case study?

A nursing case study is an in-depth study of a patient that is encountered during the student’s daily practice in a practicum. They are important learning experiences because the student can apply classroom/theoretical learning to an actual situation and perhaps make some conclusions and recommendations.

How are case studies used in nursing?

The case study is used to provide basic instruction or enhance current knowledge about the medical conditions and disease-specific problems associated with the patient population of that department.

How do you attempt a case study question?

There are several steps to writing an answer to a case study assignment:

  1. STEP 1: READ THE CASE STUDY AND QUESTIONS CAREFULLY. •
  2. STEP 2: IDENTIFY THE ISSUES IN THE CASE STUDY.
  3. STEP 3: LINK THEORY TO PRACTICE.
  4. STEP 4: PLAN YOUR ANSWER.
  5. STEP 5: START WRITING YOUR CASE STUDY ANSWER.
  6. STEP 6: EDIT AND PROOFREAD.
  7. STEP 7: SUBMIT.

What are the questions in case study?

Case Study Questions to Ask the Client

  • Can you give a brief description of your company?
  • How did you first hear about our service?
  • What challenges/problems necessitated a change?
  • What trends in your industry drove the need to use our product?
  • What were you looking for in a solution?

How many questions should you ask in a case study?

Candidates usually ask 2 – 3 clarifying questions to start the case interview. However, some case interviews will need no clarifying questions while other case interviews may need more than 3. The answer depends on how unclear the case background information is.
